Mini Pet Ideas
I've been thinking... Wouldn't it be cool to have a mini Flesh Golem pet? So then I kept thinking on and on...
-Mini Flesh Golem
-Miniatures of the devs of gw
-Mini of each profession (mini dervish, mini necro, mini ele, etc...)
-Each of your chars should get a mini of themselves, and it should be optional if u dont want one, since they might be hard to sell to other players.
-(your idea here)
GW devs should also open a "design your own mini pet contest", much like the design a weapon contest.

Mini Flesh Golem - not so much. I prefere the idea of minipets being mini versions of enemies or allies or devs.
Mini Devs - cute idea. All depends if the devs want to sign their likenesses away to Anet
Mini of each profession - no thanks. Its not gimicy or unique enough to trade.
Mini me - no thanks either. Again its would have no unique collectability to it.
Minipets have to have a uniqueness to them. A trade-ability. Something that makes you go "ooooo look at that", not "hmmmm seen it before".

Mini Fleshie - nah. We already see enough minions so I personally wouldn't want one
Mini Devs - Could be fun seeing a mini <insert dev name here> walking around town
Mini profession - No thanks. Again, we see that all the time
Mini replica of me - Can you imagine how long this would take to implement?
Design-a-mini contest...that's a good idea. I'm sure we'll get some nice results

This might sound extremely stupid but... Here it goes
Minipets should do a tiny bit of dmg and be able to level up, and do damage according to their level and each minipet has its own type of damage
e.g: Rurik-slashing, Kunnavang-fire, Whiptail-Piercing or something like that :S
also the rarer the pet is the more damage per level it should do...
I havent thought this through but i expressed myself...

Unfortunately thats not a good idea.
Mini pets are just for show. Their an item like a festival hat which you collect and show off. They should stay that way.
Making them do dmg would be unfair on the majority of players who dont have one and/or cant afford one.
Why?
Because mini pets can only be aquired once a year (on your characters bday) or if you can afford to buy one. If they were to become used as weapons, it would make it extremely unfair and unbalanced for those who cant get one.
Their not like greens, which can be farmed and drop from bosses. It would unbalance the game infavour of the rich because they are a purely traded item.
And if certain green/gold mini pets had better stats then regular white mini pets, it would push their prices even higher. Pushing them out of reach of poor players.
(If they could be farmed and dropped from bosses, then fair enough. But they dont and they shouldnt.)
Its all well and good if you have 600k lying around to spend on them. But the average player only has about 20k at one time, and the last I knew, minipets tend to sell for about 15k+.
If they did dmg, that would force people to spend hard earned gold on a mini-pet, just to feel equal.
Their purely for show and should stay that way.

Nooo! Not at all. Can you imagine the uproar that people who spent more money on a minipet can have the benefit of having a mini that does more damage? Allowing minis to do damage in the first place would completely unbalance the game. There's no reason for them to implement this. It would also take away the "exclusiveness" of being a Ranger who can own a pet that does damage.

Yeah... imagine a miniature Frog, XD.
I'll go for the dev, 'minime' and contest ideas.
People love contests.

Oh, no, don't you think that. Once a model is set on memory, a graphic engine can easily copy it, scale it or dye it.
They could even make the Doppleganger in Augury Rock look like you but with a black version of the boss effect.
The inventory icon could be something like this.

Or one of those Japaneses paper dolls, like Hagure in The Last Blade 2.
